WHERE IS MY BODY LOCATED AND WHERE DO I END?
(2025)

The performance Where is my body located and where do I end? explores the fluid conceptual boundaries of the body through artistic roller skating. Using an EMG (Electromyography) interface, the dancer records the electric activity of her muscles during the performance. These electric signals are sent to other muscles in her body, triggering new contractions and causing an alienating sensation and involuntary muscle movements. This alternating conversation of electric impuses raises the questions of what it might mean to be in control of your own body.
The dancer’s movements are determined by the roller skates, putting her in a floating state that redefines her body awarness. Behind her is an interactive audio-visual projection that responds to her movements and sounds, allowing her body to drift between physical and digital space. She begins to embody the conditions of a cyborg by merging body, technology, and perception. The performance invites the audience to rethink human materiality, the echo of agency, and the concept of the human self.
